Our Process
How Private Training Works
We begin with a quick intake to understand your dog and your routine. Together we choose 2–3 high-impact behaviors to start, then we coach you through short, upbeat practice using marker words and food or toy rewards. You’ll leave each session with a clear written plan—how often to practice, how to handle setbacks, and what “better” looks like next week. Between sessions, you’ll have support via email and brief video tips so momentum keeps building.
Tools & Standards
Reward-based, humane methods only—no prong, choke, or shock collars. Bring a flat collar or harness, 6–8 ft leash (no retractables), treat pouch, and a long line for recall work. For group classes, puppies need two sets of vaccinations; private in-home can begin sooner with appropriate precautions.
Real World Success Stories
The Neudorf Family & “Stitch”
Nipping, biting, and jumping on the kids made playtime stressful. I started with doorway mat training, then taught a family game called “Puppy in the Middle”—each person called Stitch, waited for the automatic sit, rewarded, and passed the turn. With calm handling and gentle collar support to prevent nips, Stitch learned that quiet sits and soft interactions earn attention, and the jumping eased as the family practiced the new routine.
Tammi & “Sasie”
Sasie barked and lunged whenever the doorbell rang. We set her up for success with high-value food and introduced doorway mat training, rehearsing the full sequence with real doorbell rings. By the end of the visit, Sasie could remain on her mat while guests entered—quieter, focused, and ready to be rewarded for staying calm.
Where We Train
In-home: best for door manners, greetings, and settling
Outdoor/real-world: sidewalks, parks, pet-friendly spaces for proofing
At our space: focused skill-building with fewer distractions to start
We serve Saskatoon, Warman, Martensville and nearby communities.
Safety, Comfort & Ethics
We keep sessions calm and clear, with plenty of breaks. If your dog is unwell or stressed by visitors, we’ll adjust the plan (virtual prep, outdoor starts, distance work). Our methods align with humane, evidence-informed best practices so training feels good and lasts.

Dog Training FAQ’s
-
Yes. We combine management (distance, routes, timing) with training (pattern games, alternate behaviors) and gradual setups so your dog can think and succeed.
-
Most families see momentum after the assessment + 1–2 follow-ups. Complex reactivity or fear cases may benefit from a 3-session package or ongoing check-ins.
-
We adjust the setup first—more distance, easier reps, better timing—then test higher-value food or toy play. Once stress drops, eating usually returns.
-
Absolutely. We’ll assign simple roles so handling stays consistent and your dog gets the same message from everyone.
-
Dogs aren’t machines, but we do guarantee professional, humane coaching and a clear plan. We’ll adjust as needed to fit your dog and your life.
