Our Process
How Training Works
We start with a quick intake so we understand your goals and schedule. Together we choose 2–3 high-impact skills to begin with and build short, upbeat practice sessions that puppies love. During class or in-home visits, we coach you through marker timing, reward delivery, and simple setups so your pup learns exactly what earns praise.
After each session you’ll receive a clear recap and homework you can fit into real life—short bursts during meals, play, or potty breaks. We include easy ways to measure progress (fewer pulls, quicker settles, faster response to name), and we’re available between sessions with helpful check-ins and video tips to keep momentum going.
Tools & Standards
Reward-based, humane methods aligned with current best practices. Bring a flat collar or harness, treat pouch, 6–8 ft leash, and a long line for recall games. Puppies need two sets of vaccinations before group classes; until then, book In-Home Puppy Head Start to begin safely.
Real World Success Stories
The Neudorf Family & “Stitch”
Nipping, biting, and jumping on the kids made playtime stressful. I started with doorway mat training, then taught a family game called “Puppy in the Middle”—each person called Stitch, waited for the automatic sit, rewarded, and passed the turn. With calm handling and gentle collar support to prevent nips, Stitch learned that quiet sits and soft interactions earn attention, and the jumping eased as the family practiced the new routine.
Tammi & “Sasie”
Sasie barked and lunged whenever the doorbell rang. We set her up for success with high-value food and introduced doorway mat training, rehearsing the full sequence with real doorbell rings. By the end of the visit, Sasie could remain on her mat while guests entered—quieter, focused, and ready to be rewarded for staying calm.
