About Jen & Warman Dog Training

Puppies learn fastest in short, positive bursts—and so do their people. I’m Jen, head trainer at Warman Dog Training. For more than 25 years, I’ve helped families raise confident, polite dogs—without harsh corrections or corrective devices.. Serving Saskatoon, Martensville, and surrounding areas. Every photo on this site features one of my current or former students, because real families are the heart of what we do.

Jen’s Story & Dog Training Philosophy

  • 25+ years, 1,000+ puppies and dogs coached

  • Calm, reward-based methods tailored to each family

  • Clear boundaries without force or fear

  • Practical homework that fits busy lives

“Hi, I’m Jen.”

I’ve worked with dogs of every size, breed, and personality—from puppies learning their first sit to rescues building confidence to energetic teens exploring agility. Dogs have been my passion for as long as I can remember, and I believe every dog can learn with the right support. My approach is force-free and science-based, focused on setting families up for success at home, on walks, and out in the world.

Positive, Not Permissive

At Warman Dog Training we use positive reinforcement and management to teach what we do want. We set clear boundaries, build trust, and give dogs, and handlers the skills, they need to thrive. My job is to make training positive, practical, and enjoyable for both ends of the leash.

Meet the Demo Team

  • You’ll often see my demo dogs—Six, Tug-it, Mouse, Trap, Bowman, and Tilly—join classes.

  • They help demonstrate skills and tricks, show how positive reinforcement and minimal verbals help our dogs understand what we want from them. Dogs understand our body language first and then our verbals. The demo team will show you how well this approach to training works.

How I Work With Families

  • Start where you are: brief intake to learn your goals, routine, and what “better” means to you

  • Plan the first wins: pick 2–3 high-impact behaviors and build short, upbeat practice sessions

  • Coach with clarity: clear verbal and non-verbal cues and lots of positive reinforcement, using structure, routine, and consistent training techniques.

  • Keep momentum: written recap, homework you can keep up with, and check-ins between sessions

Puppies need two sets of vaccinations before joining group classes; until then, start with In-Home Puppy Head Start.

Real World Success Stories

The Neudorf Family & “Stitch”

Nipping, biting, and jumping on the kids made playtime stressful. I started with doorway mat training, then taught a family game called “Puppy in the Middle”—each person called Stitch, waited for the automatic sit, rewarded, and passed the turn. With calm handling and gentle collar support to prevent nips, Stitch learned that quiet sits and soft interactions earn attention, and the jumping eased as the family practiced the new routine.

Tammi & “Sasie”

Sasie barked and lunged whenever the doorbell rang. We set her up for success with high-value food and introduced doorway mat training, rehearsing the full sequence with real doorbell rings. By the end of the visit, Sasie could remain on her mat while guests entered—quieter, focused, and ready to be rewarded for staying calm.
