Why Families Choose Warman Dog Training

Jen keeps training simple and doable. Every class includes 15 minutes of supervised off-leash social time. We use modern, positive dog training, solution-focused methods with calm, consistent coaching so both people and dogs succeed. Structure, routine, and consistency are keys to a happy, well-rounded dog.

What is “Positive” Dog Training?

‘Positive does not equal Permissive’
We concentrate on teaching dogs good behaviors that effectively replace undesirable ones, such as encouraging them to sit calmly instead of jumping up. Our training approach relies on positive reinforcement methods, using rewards like treats, toys, and petting to motivate and encourage learning. No harsh corrections or corrective devices are used in any Warman Dog Training services.

How We Train

Positive, Solution Focused, Fun Dog Training Classes & Behavior Consultations.

We keep things simple and doable. First, we talk about your goals and what you would like to focus on during our training session. What “Success” looks like for your family. From there, we pick 2-3main–behaviors to start with and map out short, upbeat practice sessions—using positive rewards, games, and praise to motivate your dog.

During each visit, Jen will coach you and your dog through clear steps using marker words and food or toy rewards. You’ll get a concise recap with homework you can actually fit into your week, plus easy ways to measure progress (fewer pulls, quicker settles, faster response to name). Between sessions, Jen is in your corner with email support and phone support.

Real World Success Stories

The Neudorf Family & “Stitch”

Nipping, biting, and jumping on the kids made playtime stressful. I (Jen) started with doorway mat training, then taught a family game called “Puppy in the Middle”—each person took turns calling Stitch, waited for the automatic sit, rewarded, and then another family member called Stitch.

The family requested support with settling Stitch to prevent puppy nipping and biting. With calm handling and gentle collar support to prevent nips, Stitch learned that quiet sits and soft interactions earn attention. The nipping decreased and with consistent calm , Stitch learned to stop nipping and biting.

Tammi & “Sasie”

Sasie barked and lunged whenever the doorbell rang. Jen set her up for success by teaching Sasie what she should do instead of trying to correct what she was doing. Jen introduced doorway mat training, rehearsing the full sequence with real doorbell rings. By the end of the visit, Sasie could remain on her mat with the doorbell ringing. She learned that staying away from the door gave her great treats on her mat. She remained quieter, focused, and ready to be rewarded for staying calm.

Dog Training FAQ’s

  • Yes. We’ll start with management to reduce rehearsal, then train alternative behaviors (focus, mat settle, pattern games) so your dog learns what to do instead.

  • After two sets of vaccinations. Until then, book Puppy Head Start in-home so you don’t miss the early learning window.

  • Reward-based, force-free methods only. We focus on clarity, timing, and reinforcing desired behaviors. No prong, choke, or shock collars.

  • Families are welcome; please ensure one adult can focus on the dog. For high-arousal dogs, we may suggest a quieter first session.

  • Yes—slow, confidence-building plans with distance, decompression, and choice. We’ll recommend private sessions first if needed.
